In September, the Southwest School Corporation received a $10,000 grant for the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program, sponsored by the Bayer Fund. Thanks to the grant, an educational solar energy learning lab has been installed at the SWSC Agricultural Education Center.

Students in the Sustainable Energy Alternatives agriculture course, along with STEM students, will use this system to learn about renewable solar energy and electricity generation, which will have a significant impact on the students and the community. This panel system will also power all of the electricity needs at the Ag center.
