Sullivan County, Indiana is a rural community in the Southwest corner of Indiana, nestled along the Wabash River. The city of Sullivan is the county seat and home of Southwest School Corporation. Southwest School Corporation (SWSC) employs more than 200 talented faculty, staff and administrators, who work diligently to educate students for an ever-changing workplace. With a student population of more than 1,700 students, SWSC is home to Sullivan High School, Sullivan Middle School, Sullivan Elementary and Carlisle Elementary and Middle School.

ACADEMICS
Southwest School Corporation provides each students with a path to success. We offer advanced placement and dual credit courses, as well as technology, agriculture, automotive and machine trade programs.
SWSC students consistently perform above the state average on the ISTEP and ECA and I-Read assessments.
SWSC offers 1:1 Technology. Every student is provided a chromebook.
Sullivan High School offers multiple Dual Credit classes through Ivy Tech and Indiana State University.
Students have the opportunity to earn the STGEC (Statewide Transfer General Education Core) technical certificate, which equates to 30 college transcripted credits.
To meet the needs of all students, Sullivan Elementary School offers a Sensory Room, along with student-led Kindness Projects that promote social and emotional skills, in addition to academic development.
SWSC students receive individual attention from teachers and staff.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR
Southwest School Corporation offers a variety of extra-curricular opportunities, including top-ranked athletic programs, regionally and state recognized academic clubs, and more! There is something for everyone at SWSC!
Sullivan Middle School is recognized as a Beta School of Distinction.
Carlisle Middle School’s Science Olympiad team earned 12 regional medals and advanced to state competition in 2017-18.
SHS Technology Students earned 1st place at the 2017-18 State competition.
Our FFA Chapter is ranked among the top ten (top 10%) FFA chapters in the State of Indiana and nation.
SWSC Athletics offer 17 out of 20 IHSAA approved sports. The 2017 – 2018 Golden Arrows Baseball Team claimed the top spot as WIC Champions, led by Coach of the Year, Tony Steimel.
SWSC also offers programs such as National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, JAG, Beta and FFA, and many more!
