About the Counselor, Heather Scott

My name is Heather Scott and this is my second year as the counselor at Carlisle Elementary and Middle School. I have worked with children from Pre-K up to 5th grade for almost 5 years in school settings, after school programs, tutoring, and social work.

I am a P-12 Licensed Indiana School Counselor. I received my Master's in School Counseling at Indiana State University. Along with my Master's degree, I am pursuing my credentials as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am originally from Gary, Indiana. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and learning different languages.

I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where students can express themselves and learn to manage their emotions in a healthy way. My goal is to help students develop skills like empathy, communication, and resilience, so they can build positive relationships and cope with challenges effectively. I am passionate about implementing programs that focus on preventing bullying, substance abuse, and mental health challenges, helping students develop strong coping skills before they face these issues. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions, comments or concerns regarding your child or Carlisle's counseling program. You can call the school at 812-398-3851 ext. 2435 or email me at hscott@swest.k12.in.us
